A1 Digital and Asimily Partner to Enhance IT Security in Critical Environments

Vienna/Munich, 22. October 2024 – A1 Digital, a digitalization expert, and Asimily, a specialist in IoT security, have announced a strategic partnership. The collaboration aims to enhance IT security in critical environments – such as hospitals – through the implementation of Asimily's intelligent IoT security solutions.

The increasing connectivity of devices within the Internet of Things (IoT) offers numerous advantages. Previously isolated systems can now be centrally monitored and managed. Patient care is a particularly critical area. Many medical IoT devices are quick and easy to use, optimized for specific tasks, and require minimal configuration effort.

"By combining A1 Digital's expertise in cloud, network, and cyber security with Asimily's innovative IoT security solution, we can significantly improve security in environments such as hospitals," emphasizes Arne Trittelvitz, Director Europe at Asimily. "Together, we enable proactive and agile responses to security incidents, contributing to secure and efficient patient care."

However, this connectivity also creates new security risks. These devices are not always actively managed and/or may lack high security standards. Vulnerabilities in IoT devices can be exploited by attackers to compromise critical systems. This can affect manufacturing companies, chemical industries, water supplies, or hospitals, potentially posing immediate risks to human life and safety.

"To minimize these risks, it's essential to maintain a complete overview of all IoT devices in a network and understand their vulnerabilities," explains Daniel Tremmel, Security Solutions Architect at A1 Digital. "Our partnership with Asimily will enable us to offer companies and organizations an innovative solution that addresses these challenges. We will begin with the medical sector."

Automatic Analysis of IoT Devices by Asimily

Asimily employs a machine learning-based approach to automatically identify, classify, and analyze IoT devices' vulnerabilities. The solution offers:

  • Detailed IoT Device Information: Real-time data on device types, characteristics, and network connections
  • Risk Mitigation: Vulnerability detection and risk modeling for efficient security measure prioritization
  • Anomaly Detection: Identification of suspicious behavior and anomalies for rapid incident response
  • Optimized Device Management: Analysis of IoT device usage and utilization for optimal distribution and deployment planning
  • Trial Installations: Hospitals can test the Asimily solution in their network without obligation. Installation of the sensor and firewall activation are the only requirements. Initial data is available within days.
